GREEK THOMSON CHURCH
Built 1856-57 this iconic building by Alexander Thomson has for many years stood proud amongst an ever changing Gorbals landscape.
It represents a grand reminder of the man and just how unique and important his work was – and is – to our city`s rich architectural heritage.
The interior has been lost, but the walls, columns and church clock tower remain, forming a beacon on the city skyline visible for miles around.
SGHET and the Alexander Thomson Society would like to hear from anyone with memories or photographs of the church. Get in touch at info@sghet.com or leave a comment below.
