SGHET seeking new board members

March 31, 2021
We’re looking to expand our team of Board members and are interested to hear from people who want to help develop and drive forward current and new projects and activities that support the diverse heritage and environmental sustainability of Glasgow’s Southside…

SGHET is a volunteer-run charitable trust rooted in the local community, so if you have ideas and enthusiasm for local heritage, landscape and community involvement – we’d love to hear from you!

We’re especially interested to hear from folk with any of the following skills, interests or experience:

• Archives and collections creation & management (including its digital aspect)

• Print publications: design & layout, admin, publisher liaison, order fulfilment

• Online publishing, social media and digital innovation (eg. web management/editing/design, Google Apps, social media content, podcasts, mobile or web apps, eCommerce, video, digital mapping, 3D imaging, digital content remixing or re-use)

• Heritage & environmental placemaking, learning or projects

• History / heritage / conservation: research, practice, writing or journalism

• Walking tours, heritage/history talks, events or presentations

• Architects (qualified or in training) or knowledge of architectural / landscape heritage with an interest in community engagement

• Schools or youth education, creativity/arts & play: community work, outreach or project development

• Oral history projects

• Basic financial management, record keeping or accounting

We appreciate people have varying time and always aim to adapt the running of the Trust to our Board members’ differing needs.

We encourage people of diverse backgrounds getting involved and most of all, we value creativity and a readiness to collaborate at times, and potentially go solo at others, in order to make a positive difference through our activities for the broad South Glasgow community.

If you’re interested, want more details or have any questions, contact us on board@sghet.com or sghet.contact@gmail.com
