Looking for a refreshing way to explore the South of Glasgow and its surrounding countryside? Then our guided version of the Magnificent 11 Walk on Sunday 4th May, based on a new resource from Glasgow Ramblers, offers the perfect opportunity to get active, enjoy nature, and discover hidden corners of the southern fringes of our great city and its natural habitats.

Ranging across green spaces and Sites of Special Scientific Interest, to impressive architecture and local history, this guided trail through a remarkable landscape has something for everyone.

We’ll be running this tour on one further date in 2025 (to be announced) so stay tuned via the above channels to avoid missing out – you can also follow us on our social media outlets.

Date: Sunday 4th May 2025
Time: 10am-2.30pm approx

Meeting Point & end point:
Snuff Mill Bridge, Snuff Mill Road, Cathcart, Glasgow G44 5TP.

Transport:
Nearest Train Station: Cathcart (5-7 minutes walk). Buses 4, 4A & 6 also stop near station. On-street parking nearby.

Accessibility:
The walk is 11 miles, takes around 4.5 hours and requires a reasonable level of fitness given the terrain and elevation – this also means sections of the route are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible nor suitable for those with mobility issues. Outdoor wear/boots are advised.

Restrictions:
• Due to the 4.5 hour duration of the walk and its varied terrain, it is open to attendees age 16+ only.
• As the walk includes Sites of Special Scientific Interest, dogs are not permitted in order to limit disturbance of wildlife.
• No public toilet facilities are available on route at weekends/holidays when our walk takes place.
