SGHET has now been in existence as a Scottish Charity since March 2007. During this period the management committee has worked towards the associations objects, which are:
To encourage all to be inspired by their heritage
To respect and value the environment
To gain self-development and enlightenment on all matters related to the heritage and environment
To advanced education in heritage and environment issues through the promotion of interest, appreciation, preservation, improvement, and sustainability of all matters related to the heritage and environment of the South Side of Glasgow.
